DIY – Get Rid of Ants
Things become a little tough when it comes to getting rid of ants from several areas of home. Ants can be real nuisance and people try out many products to get rid of them from their kitchen, cabinets and several other places of home. You have to keep removing them as they can easily come again once you stop applying the treatment.
If you think about it carefully, you would realize that getting the ant removing products from market can be really expensive as you would need them most of the time at your home. This is why I am sharing a few effective ways and remedies through which you can easily get rid of all the ants in your home.
You can get many remedies from the internet that claim to get rid of the ants from home; however you are never sure of which one to try. Well, it’s never that easy to decide. Save your money, time and effort and ignore all those cheap and ineffective remedies that do nothing except wasting your money. Here is a simple and very easy way of getting rid of ants from all the parts of your home effectively.
: It’s not expensive at all, and easily available on the supermarkets. All you have to do is to wipe your counter tops, cupboards and all other areas where you find the ants with a mixture of vinegar and water. The quantity of both the ingredients must be same. Keep on repeating the procedure for a number of times through out the day. There are two main reasons why this remedy works quite effectively: ants hate the smell of vinegar and it removes the smell of food that allows the ants to come inside the home.
- Chalk/ Baby powder: use a chalk to draw a line on the place where the ants are entering your home, or spot some baby powder. This also works best; it acts as a natural ant repellent. Just be careful if you are using talc, as some studies have linked it to cancer.
- Borax: Mix borax with some desert, you can take some syrup of jelly with all in equal quantity. And place it on the area where ants will find it. Borax powder kills the ants by harming their digestive systems and destroying their outer skeleton too.
- Spices/ Herbs: make use of cinnamon, mint, chili pepper, black pepper and garlic in the area where you see the ants. You should keep the bay leaves in the drawers, cabinets and containers to further deter ants from coming inside your house. Herbs and the spices mentioned above leave a strong scent that helps to repel these nasty insects from your home.
These are not the only ingredients that can help you to get rid of ants from your home. There are many others that you can try yourself, but I have found these ingredients as the most effective ones. Try them and they would definitely work for you too. You don’t have to buy those expensive sprays to get rid of ants anymore. It would help to save a lot of money for you too.
