If you have adopted frugality and have a simple living then you would be familiar with all the tricks to save money for your future. Due to tough economic conditions people are trying to find more and more ways to make things at home. Which is quite good, you not only save money but come up with better quality.

Here in this article I am going to share a very important thing that you can do at home to save money. You all would be familiar with ice bags which are used for gaining relief from pain, aches and headaches.

Now you don’t have to run to market for getting an ice pack over and over again. I am sharing a wonderful way of making these ice packs at home that would allow you to save huge bucks. It’s quite simple and anyone can do it easily at home. You can easily do it with the help of Ziploc Bag and any ordinary dish wash soap. You can also make the decorative ones for the use of your kids. Here is how to make ice pack for you.

  1. Choose a Ziploc bag of any size that is suitable for you. In order to protect against the leakages double or triple the bag.
  2. Purchase a lot of cheap dish wash soap.
  3. Load up the Ziploc about 11/3 full. Remove the air from the bag and freeze it.
  4. If you are living a frugal lifestyle then you can do the same with Ziploc containers for preserving your food. You can simply full a Ziploc bag and fit it into a Ziploc container. Seal it with a few drops of super glue to make sure that there is no leakage.

This is not the only way to make ice packs. There are many other ways that you can use. It all depends upon your budget and choice. However the method I have shared with you above is the least expensive way of making an ice pack.

If you like to make colorful ice packs for your kids add a few drops of food color of your choice. You can use any color that you or your kids like. In no time you would be having many ice packs and you would find them much cheaper than the ones bought from market. You can save a lot of money on ice bags since you may need them quite often. If you make an ice bag at home it would only cost you about $0.30, while if you purchase it from market it would cost you $4-$5 per bag.  See the difference? Now that I have shared a simple way of making ice bags at home you can try it at home and save a lot of money.
